Traditionally speaking, Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa is a time of gathering around the ones you love. In 2020 social distancing restrictions don’t allow this tradition to be practiced the way most of us are used to. Philadelphia songwriter Derek Anthony Wilson aka Archpalatine brings us together with his new holiday single,“The Last Christmas Song.” This ballad is a story that discusses childhood memories and holiday tradition. Despite our inability to celebrate together this nostalgic and positive tune reminds us that despite the difficulties of the 2020 pandemic we can still be together through song. This track was recorded with the help of his band in a socially distanced environment and also included the help of many of his friends who sent vocals tracks over email to help with the gang vocals towards the end of the song. Archpalatine has always used ballads and waltzes to tell stories in his songwriting and this song brings 2020 to a positive close. The Philadelphia Globe is glad to share this Philadelphia based holiday tune to your eyes.
