Starting on Friday June 12th, restaurants will be reopening their doors for foodies all around Philly as they are now allowed to start offering some outdoor dining options. Outdoor dining locations will include patios, decks, backyards, sidewalk seating, closed off sidewalks and other unique arrangements to ensure safety, health and social distancing. Since Friday is quickly approaching, we have compiled a list of the top 18 restaurants for outdoor dining in Philly. From the largest outdoor dining spot in the region at Morgan’s Pier, to the charms of the outdoor patio at Positano Coast in Old City, to the shaded cafe of Pistolas Del Sur on East Passyunk, over to Center City sidewalk views of Tradesman’s and BRU, and up to the beer garden vibes of Germantown Garden in Northern Liberties, this list includes top restaurants for outdoor dining, some being located within the most notable foodie areas throughout the city of Philadelphia.

Morgan’s Pier will reopen for the summer for outdoor dining this week and will be the largest permanent outdoor dining venue in the region. Opening weekend we will have a DJ beginning Friday from 5-9 PM, Saturday 1-5 PM and 5-9 PM.

Best of Philly Winner Harper’s Garden – Philadelphia’s all-season, plant filled al fresco oasis in the heart of Rittenhouse neighborhood – will open on June 12th and will nearly double the outdoor capacity with an expansion that will take-over the adjacent outdoor property to the South. This urban oasis in the heart of Northern Liberties will re-open in time for outdoor dining this weekend – this is an entirely outdoor restaurant with table seats, full bar, full food menu, plants and flowers, beautiful lighting and an escape without leaving the city. To start, the menu will be appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, wings, bar favorites, and entrees. Elevated dishes from their “standard” menu will be added closer to July.
4. Le Virtú
Open Monday – Thursday 5:00pm to 10:30pm; Friday 5:00pm to 11:00pm; Saturday 4:00pm to 11:00pm; Sunday 4:00pm to 10:00pm
Le Virtu will be one of the largest locations for outdoor dining for East Passyunk – Philadelphia’s restaurant row! Il Campo (Le Virtu’s spacious, lush garden and outdoor space) plus Le Virtu’s patio are available on OpenTable for seatings beginning on Friday (or you can call 215-271-5626). Dine with the backdrop of Abruzzo on the giant mural behind! Full menu will be offered. ALSO they are restarting Caviar this week and takeout with most of the entire menu – that part starts today June 10th. They will look to get dozens of socially distance seats with a final count coming closer to the weekend.

Dim Sum House in Rittenhouse will open back up for outdoor dining on Friday. They will offer nearly 2 dozen seats socially distanced apart with their entire full menu of Dim Sum favorites plus Chinese specialty dishes

Positano Coast by Aldo Lamberti will offer beautiful outdoor views above the streets of Old City District -with outdoor and cafe/ patio seating with their full menu, bar and wine-beer-cocktail list. Positano Coast by Aldo Lamberti offering Italian inspired Cuisine with a seafood-focused menu, and breathtaking open-air dining plans to reopen with outdoor dining this Friday. That will include a sidewalk cafe and back patio seating. Tables will be spread out between 6 feet or more and will be taking safety precautions. Employees will be wearing masks and taking extra steps for sanitation. There will be between 40-50 seats available along the sidewalk cafe while bigger parties will be set up at the back patio.
10. Sancho Pistolas

Pistolas‘ Fishtown location will offer sidewalk cafe seating in the heart of Fishtown with socially distanced tables. Offering a full menu and table service, plus specials coming soon.
11. Pistolas Del Sur
Delivery Open Seven days a week Noon – 11:00pm
Dine outside under the shade and on the beautiful seating outside East Passyunk’s Pistolas Del Sur. Take in the Avenue views and sidewalk scene and enjoy tacos, entrees, margaritas, cocktails, wine and beer. Offering a full menu, table service, and specials will be coming soon.
12. Rosy’s Taco Bar
Reservations Open Monday – Sunday 12:00pm – 10:00pm
Rosy’s Taco will close off the adjacent parking spots, allowing them to utilize the entire sidewalk for dining tables. Offering a full menu, table service, frozen and standard cocktails, full bar, wine, beer, beer-to-go and more.
Set between the Italian Market and East Passyunk Avenue, dine outside with a view of Capitolo Park. Order inside and food will be brought outside. Offering a full menu + socially distanced tables.
Pro Tip: If there is a wait, grab a frozen margarita at one of the brand new slushy machines. There are 4 kinds of frozen margaritas to choose from. If you can’t find a table and would like to cruise, Wine Dive is open for people to come in and shop along with more slushy machines.

Beautiful outdoor patio and sidewalk seating in the heart of No Libs on 2nd Street at the Piazza. Urban Village will be using a new app “Up N Go” to pay by phone (for contactless pay). They will be offering their famous Froze that debuted at the Pod Park last year – The most popular drink of the summer for the entire park in 2019 – a welcome addition!

El Camino Real Restaurant will open their sidewalk seating in the middle of the open-air picturesque Liberties Walk with beer garden-style seating (where you order from stations and they will bring food out to the tables). El Camino Real has a full dining menu with lots of frozen cocktails for the hot weekends to come. They will be serving frozen pineapple margaritas in fresh pineapples this weekend in addition to their regular speciality cocktails.
