Music photographer Greg Watermann and Julien’s Auctions just joined forces for an unprecedented sale which is currently available as part of Julien’s Music Icons auction. The auction will conclude this Saturday, June 20th. Watermann was the photographer who shot Nirvana for their first major magazine cover, SPIN’s 1992 New Music Issue. This particular issue hit newsstands just as their album Nevermind was replacing Michael Jackson’s Dangerous as the No. 1 album on the Billboard chart.

The package that is up for auction includes one hundred original color slides and black-and-white negatives (every photo that was published plus the outtakes), the original contact sheets, signed analog gallery prints, the Hasselblad camera Watermann used for the shoot, some additional copies of the 1992 magazine and most importantlyfull copyright transfer and ownership of all images!
