New Release From Lady Gaga

This Is Lady Gaga’s Dance Floor for All of Us in These Troubling Times

New music Review of Lady Gaga’s Chromatica Review

By Patrick DeMarco

Rain….on….me,” commands Lady Gaga alongside Ariana Grande on the latter named second single from her much, much eagerly anticipated sixth studio album, Chromatica, which was just served into our headphones today.

So, was it worth the excruciating wait? Bitch, you better believe it. By the way, how are we feeling right now, gays? On the floor, I presume.

In a world that seems, wait—is—growing more darker by the millisecond, Ms. Germanotta delivers the Gaga goods on a standout record (ArtPop this ain’t) complete with gummy grooves, slaying pop hooks, sexed up synths and plenty of that disco sticked realness that the pop priestess brought onto our dance floors over a decade ago with her shimmering début set, The Fame.

Above the strobe light accompanying beats brought to you by the likes of heavy hitters BURNS, Axwell, Madeon, BloodPop, Skrillex and Max Martin, Chromatica does what it sets out to do….take us to another galaxy that’s miles away from this current dumpster fire we call…this new way of existence.

By now, we’ve all danced around, um, stupidly, to lead single, “Stupid Love,” and “Rain on Me” is no doubt this year’s summer/life anthem. In fact, all other anthems can take all the seats….it’s that heavenly. And how many times have you already embedded the already iconic lyric…”rain on me…tsunami” into your every day self pep talks during these darkened days?

Too many to count. Yes, Gaga and Ari yaaaas. We are simply not worthy.

Other rides on the colorful Chromatica space ship include the solo swingin’ “Free Woman”(“I’m still something if I don’t got a man”…preach, boo), the after-hours bangers, “911,” “1000 Doves,” “Replay,” as well as the burping and chugging,”Sour Candy,” Gaga’s whirled up collaboration with K-Pop super girl-group, Blackpink.

All of it will make you feel deliciously sticky-and-sweet in all the right ways. But, if there’s one thunderous groove that captures the glorified essence of what Gaga’s latest studio offering is truly all about, it’s “Sine From Above,” her stand out collaboration with the one-and-only, Sir Elton John.

Besides lyrics that cut soul-deep(“When I was young, I felt immortal, not a day went by without a struggle”), just having these two entertainment tour-de-forces coming together as one transports us to a freeing place full of hope, music and beats…lots and lots of big ass beats.

To sum it all up, while we’ve been obsessed with Gaga no matter what she brings to the creative table, we truly cherish her the best when she’s commanding us to just dance….because that’s when it’ll all be okay.

Chromatica is proof that it absolutely will….listen up and be free.
