Philly’s own Thantophobe releases new music video for their song “In the Place Where You Were Young.” Songwriter, Thomas Johnsen went to to explain the meaning of the tune:

“In the Place where you were young is a song dealing with suicide and the devastation and ripple effect it has on family and friends.  It was written from personal experience and from the place of losing someone close to me as well as supporting someone going through the devastation of loss.  It is the first song self produced and recorded by Thantophobe in our new studio in Port Richmond, and we utilized some archaic analog equipment we have been acquiring to achieve an older lo-fi mix and feel.  The video was filmed in an abandoned house off of Rt 100 in Chester County, and before filming a day was spent clearing out the brush to gain access to the house.  A friend of Thantophobe lent us some old film camera lenses which added to the vibe of the video. The isolation of the abandoned house felt appropriate for the songs subject matter
