Twin Pixie’s “Lunacy,” Brings a New Pop Sound To Philadelphia

By Brian Walker

I caught wind of a new Philadelphia duo, Twin Pixie. Twin Pixie is a self produced pop duo that started in Montreal, Canada and recently moved to Philadelphia. They dropped their single, Lunacy in early July.

TJ from Twin Pixie describes the track as “Caught between the worlds of supernatural and pop, Lunacy is a dreamy dance track about sensuality and attraction that goes beyond the body.” You can hear this reference in the lyrics, and the band uses celestial and magical references to discuss the dynamics of a relationship.

Lunacy moves quickly and grabs the attention of the listener leaving no space for boredom. With quick harmonic changes in the instrumentals and dynamic vocals, any listener could resonate with the charismatic tones of this song. For fans of bands such as LIGHTS and Lykke Li, Twin Pixie is the band for you to check out. The band describes their music as “a supernatural connection between pop and queer cultures.”

From July 8th to August 8th, 25% of profits on track sales for unacy will be donated to the Youth Arts and Self-Empowerment Project in Philadelphia, an organization dedicated to end youth incarceration. Twin Pixie plans on releasing their next release some time in the future with no targeted date. We at The Philadelphia Globe are glad to provide a review of this band and look forward to what they do next.
