Which Philadelphia Restaurant Should We Get Takeout From? Can someone recommend a delicious authentic Mexican restaurant for me, PLEASE?! Email or tweet, I am for real! Debreaux’s in the Overbrook train station has very good soul food.
Which Philly bands should we be listening to? My friend Cavan Curran asked me to sing on his upcoming album. It was fly before I got there and I am excited for his release! A person much cooler than I am, Sophie Lakes, can make anything she touches sound so freaking good! My personal favorite, Musiq Soulchild, of course! What do you know about “Womanopoly”? And don’t sleep of the brilliant talent of Emily Drinker!
Which Non-Philly bands should we be listening to? My friend Delgira Samtonova from Trenton! Delgiraaa is a brilliant artist and musician with the best vibes. Øff Guard, a dope band, from Long Island fronted by singer Matt Weiss. And Arc Iris from Rhode Island, we supported them with the full band when they came to Philly this February.
When This Is Over Who Do You Want To Play A Show With? Hoochi Coochi fo sho, Sixteen Jackies would be dope, Rose Meat fo sho fo sho, and My Familiar!
First public place you want to go to after quarantine? The Grape Room, locally. Cedar Point Park or some other amazing amusement park, worldwide
First activity you will do after quarantine?
Have you embraced cocktail hour? What’s your favorite cocktail? Not really since quarantine, but occasionally yes. I started bartending summer 2019. Gin or Jager on the rocks.
Where should we be donating our dollars to help out our fellow Philadelphians? St. Barnabas Mission is an emergency shelter for families. They do excellent work!
What’s your favorite jawn? I grew up in philly and in the 90’s and early 2000’s we were saying Jawn. It’s 2020. You might catch me saying jawn jawn.
