The Hissing Of Summer Lawns” by Joni Mitchell. Really, this entire record sounds like a hazy mid-August afternoon.

We are always looking for new film and television to check out.  What’s your favorite thing you’ve watched over the past few months? The Eurovision/Will Farrell movie is genius. The songs are amazing and the ultimate definition of an “earworm”. Fleabag was also incredible. Brutal, but incredible. Lastly, I finally caught up with The Handmaid’s Tale. It takes a lot to watch each episode due to the terrifying parallels to our own situation in this country right now. I really lost it during the season 3 finale.

Your vacation plans probably got thwarted due to the global pandemic.  Where had you hoped to travel to this summer?  Where are you planning to do some fun, summer things this year instead? My girlfriend and I had hoped to spend some time up on the Maine coast this summer, and we were also planning on doing some shows along the way to promote my new record. Alas.

Can you recommend a local, Black owned business that we should check out?

Pizza Dads – some of the best pizza in town

Hakim’s Bookstore – excellent bookshop in West Philly with a lot of literature that too many people need to read and learn

The Random Tea Sessions – excellent podcast/video series by Koofreh Umoren

What’s your favorite shore town?I’ve only every really spent some quality beach time in Ventnor, due to a good friend’s owning of a nice house down there, so I can’t really compare it anywhere else to have a favorite. It’s just what i know.

Lots of people have been releasing music over quarantine.  What’s your favorite release that came out since March? The latest Laura Marling record, “Song For Our Daughter”, is incredible:
